Health Check-up & Surgical Camps – Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan, Koradi
Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan, Koradi, organized six free health check-up and surgical camps for citizens from rural and economically weaker sections under the guidance of Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
A total of 15,019 beneficiaries received medical services, with 520 surgeries successfully performed, including cataract, orthopaedic, cardiac and other procedures.
The camps were conducted with the support of IGGMC Nagpur, Government Medical College, Government Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur, District Health Authorities and participating hospitals, with the aim of bringing quality healthcare services closer to rural communities.
A Mega Health Camp on the Occasion of the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Birthday
A Mega Health Camp was organised by the Government of Maharashtra on the occasion of the birthday of the Honourable Chief Minister. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur, actively participated in the camp and provided comprehensive healthcare services to the beneficiaries. A total of 16,217 patients were examined during the camp.
Swasth Nari, Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan
As part of the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Pariwar” initiative, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur, conducted various health awareness, screening and preventive healthcare activities from 17 September 2025 to 2 October 2025.

Organ Donation Awareness Campaign
A. Awareness Program for Nursing Students
On 3rd August 2026, as a part of the Organ Donation Awareness Campaign, the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, IGGMCH, Nagpur, under the guidance of Dr. Vaishali Shelgaonkar, Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology, conducted an Awareness Program for nursing students and staff of IGGMC at the Nursing Lecture Hall. Dr. Parag Sabale, Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, delivered a lecture on the Need for Organ Donation. A total of 110 nursing students and staff members attended the program.
B. Rally for Organ Donation Awareness
IGGMC team of Anaesthesia Residents, Operation theatre BPMT students, under leadership of Dr.Pranay Mallela participated in Rally for awareness of Organ Donation. It was from Variety Square to RBI Square on the Occasion of National Organ Donation day.

Background: The Department of Community Medicine, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur, organized a three-day National Workshop on Healthcare Management from 10th to 12th August 2026 as part of the institution’s Diamond Jubilee Year celebrations. The chief guest of the inauguration was Dr. B.S. Garg. Our very own Dean and Patron for the workshop, Dr. Ravi Chavhan, graced the inauguration ceremony. The workshop was conducted in association with IAPSM Maharashtra Chapter. The enthusiastic participation of the delegates and interaction with experienced resource persons made the programme a meaningful academic initiative and a fitting part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

World Health Day 2024 – Department of Dentistry
World Health Day was celebrated at IGGMC, Nagpur on 8th April
under the able guidance of our respected Dean, Dr. Ravi Chauhan.
Nursing staff and students were made aware of oral hygiene
maintenance practices, the role of systemic diseases in causing
oral diseases, and preventive measures.
The importance of diet modification in the prevention of dental
caries was discussed. Various dental treatment modalities were
explained and demonstrated through audio-visual methods.
Students were also made aware of the ill effects of tobacco,
including its association with oral precancer and cancer.
Information regarding postoperative oral hygiene care was also
provided. World Health Day pamphlets were distributed among
nursing staff and students.
